Sexting 12 week Ancona ducks

At twelve weeks drakes will not have developed their curly tail feathers. Those develop around 16 weeks (4 months). But you should be able to voice sex at their age. Females quack loudly and males make sort of rasping noises that is much quieter than the hens. Could you get some better pics of their faces, that would help me determine gender. Right now I think I see at least one hen. Beautiful ducks!

That's the one I thought was for sure a hen, such a sweet face. Those pics are helpful and I think you have 1 drake and 2 hens: blue/white = drake, black/whites = hens. But you'll have to listen to their voices to tell for sure.

At 14 weeks, our drakes have full tail feathers. They began showing at exactly 12 weeks. We knew who to expect the drake feathers from before we ever saw them due to their voices … females quacked loudly and the males sounded like they had laryngitis or a door that needs oil. Also, our Welsh Harlequins began showing their drake feathers at 12 weeks too.
