Shading the run?

Our run is 6 ft wide and 20 ft long. The gate is gold-zinc from petsmart or something.
I really need to put some shading on top of the run. I worry however putting a tarp over it will lock in the hot air since only one side is open.
(the other is a wall) Am I being silly about the air flow?

Is there some kind of netting that allows air flow and gives off a good amount of shade?

My husband, being the genius he is, found a trampoline mat that someone was throwing out and put that over my run. It works great! Of course it doesn't cover my whole run, but it does cover a good area and provides plenty of shade in the summer. It also breathes, so airflow isn't an issue.

I just found this picture to help give you a visual.

I think thats either water proof canvas or woven poly polypropylene fabric.

WOO! Actually water proof canvas might work pretty well! If I can't anyone giving it away though it is really pricey. HMMMM!

We put up shadecloth for that reason-provides shade, protection from overhead predators and it allows ventilation.

Ohhhh...I thought your run was wire covered...lol. Yeah...lowes sells shade cloth.

Nope, its not. Really the hawks aren't such a worry but we do have a few (and bats!).
I would kill myself if a chicka got loose round the hood or a hawk had a chicken sandwich.
