Shadow in the Glow of Motherhood (PICS)

HI have 5 hens that went broody at the same time...ish...Of course the chicks are hatching out daily....but the Mama are still sitting on eggs....I took one of the hens that had the fewest eggs and distributed the eggs between the other hens. Then I put her in a separate pen with a little nesting box and gave her the babies as they hatched out.

She is now up to 22 chicks and is a Great Mama! Don't think you are going to get her babies! Man, she will peck you to pieces! S

I let her take the babies out during the day....she cluck, clucks, and they just follow her around, learning to free range! I am also feeding chick starter.

I have a great picture of her with all her chickies...if I could figure out how to put it on here.....

Hey Smithx9, if you look up at the top of the page, there is a heading called uploads, which will allow you to post your pictures. If I was able to figure it out ANYONE can. I'm not sure where, but there is a post somewhere which explains the process, if another member with the exact location can help out.

I tried to get pics of the little ones out in the grass, but I failed miserably, LOL! All I got were the two Orp babies with my Zane in the background. oh, well, hardly worth posting, but here it is:

They are looking good!

My chicks are hiding indoors. It's rainy and cold here. They really don't like it outside even when it's not raining. It's cold. Some year we will have summer, I hope.
