I have a question for any livestock owner/breeders reading this. I was looking at the marestare due date calendar and saw that a mini horse lost her colt day before yesterday and a sheep lost her ram yesterday.

When a livestock animal loses her only baby does she seem to grieve for it?

i think they do, at least the baby losses i have seen they do

I think that livestock grieve like anyone else does. I you watch the ending of the 1rst episode of Cloud Wild Stallion of the Rockies it shows him with a mare he won because he stood by her side as she grieved the foal she had just lost, & after she was done grieving she stayed with him. That scene always makes me cry
