Cloudfall yawned and settled down beside her friend. "I promise we won't spend all day here," she said, trying to keep the laughter out of her mew. "But I'd like to spend one evening chatting with you, like we used to. Then we can go hunting."

Yes, Ravenwhisper was happy, but she was also surprised, and she could tell Elkheart was too, but beyond that, she couldn't see if he was pleased about this; she hoped he was, but part of her couldn't help feeling doubtful and sad. Would he still be there for her? "Thank you Emeraldheart," she mewed quietly, and, suddenly realizing how tired she was, began padding back to her nest.

Elkheart walked back to the warriors den. He rubbed his head to hers. "Have a good rest, Ravenwhisper" He mewed, curling up next to her. As he drifted off to sleep, he couldn't help feeling excitement leap in his chest. He was going to be a father!

“Goodnight, Elkheart.” She mewed, resting her head on her paws, but as tired as she was, sleep wouldn’t come. Her stunning light brown eyes blinked sadly, all that she could think about were the things that could go wrong.
