Tanheart had finished brewing the leaves, and she put the stuff in a vessel. After she finished she went looking for Flashpaw.

Flashpaw looked over at Tanheart, "What do you need?"

"I decided that I need a new deputy and I know who I want. Is that even a good idea? The one I have now is very... very you know...."

"Well..." she said slowly. Cloudfall knew she was probably being asked for her honesty, and she was determined to give him that. "Choosing a deputy is kind of a big deal, as you know. I don't remember it ever being done unless the deputy dies or retires. But if you don't think that your current deputy is capable of handling their responsibilities, then I think you should take the senior warriors' advice and do what you think is right. I'm sure it's not unheard of, just hasn't happened in a while."

Flashpaw looked over at Tanheart, "What do you need?"

(I don't know how this stuff works but i'm gonna roll with it.)

"I'm wondering if you'd be willing to go get something for me." Tanheart said.

Bluefeather came back with 3 dead birds on his back and 1 in his mouth.

He jumped up on the Fern Rock and called his clan together.

He dipped his head, "The ceremony will be held now let's go."

Cloudfall was shocked that the Clan leader has shown a sign of such respect to her. She returned the dip and hurried to catch up with Sparrowstar.

He nodded, "What do you need?"

"Thornblaze is retiring as deputy. I know this is a shock but I have another cat who has shown great promise. I value her opinion and I know she is a fine cat. Cloudfall do you accept your place as my deputy?"

He nodded, "What do you need?"

"I need some of the blue flowers." Tanheart said.

"Thornblaze is retiring as deputy. I know this is a shock but I have another cat who has shown great promise. I value her opinion and I know she is a fine cat. Cloudfall do you accept your place as my deputy?"

Cloudfall's jaw dropped. "Y-Yes of course," she stammered. I must be the youngest deputy in history! What will the other cats at the Gathering think? What will my own Clan think? As dreamlike as this felt, she was honored beyond words that Sparrowstar saw such promise in her. Still in a daze, she padded up to the base of the rock and turned to adress the Clan. "I am honored to accept the position as Clan deputy," she said honestly. "I never expected to earn this, especially so soon, but I swear I will do everything in my power to serve my Clan until my last breath. Thank you, Sparrowstar. And thank you, Thornblaze, for serving us for so well for so long." She then began chanting his name, as all did when someone was to be honored. Soon others began to join her. "Thornblaze! Thornblaze!"
