Meadowsong placed her catch on the fresh kill pile. Her swollen belly was proof of what she had done with Blackpine. There was no doubt the clan resented her for it. And lately she had begun to resent herself for it too. She might have to end everything with Blackpine in order to give herself and her kits a chance to earn the respect of her clan again. Why had she fallen for him? Why did he fall for her? What was wrong with both of them?
Yet she couldn't deny that he loved her. And she loved him, even though doubts of her letting him to be her mate often crept into her mind.
What mess had she gotten herself into?
Meadowsong sighed and lay down to rest her legs. She felt her kits squirming inside of her.
She must speak to Blackpine tonight.
The conversation, she knew, would either strengthen or break their relationship.
