According to the maps I found Goshawks are everywhere in the USA except east TX and the southern states east of there. You are in the non breeding range.

Yes, I see that on the map, too. But on my local email group forum, people are saying no. Maybe they are just very shy and hard to spot.

My poor girls have been stuck in the run for two days. It hasn’t stopped raining and is a huge muddy mess outside (luckily the run stays dry). I hung up a suet block and a cabbage to keep them busy all day. Hopefully it doesn’t last too much longer!

We had Goshawks in Spain. They killed and injured more chickens than any other predator.

It stayed dry today but there were 45mph wind gusts and after forty five minutes they mainly kept under the coop hoop.
There were pellets in the feed tray when I got there and none were particularly hungry until I got the mackerel out.
I take a tin which means the five get a lot more then they did when there were twenty and more even though I took two tins then. Henry gets a reasonable share now.
I cleaned the coop out and scraped the floor and roost bars. If it stays dryish I'll get the coop run door done finally.

that's astonishing footage! I knew they were agile, but that's amazing.

We have one here, and I think it (or its predecessor) has had chicks in years past, but I've not caught one on camera as yet.
