I have a Janice named after the guitar woman from Sesame street.

We had a Bressé cockerel called Vinny, as in Coq au Vinny, which is where the vicious brute ended up! My La Fleche cock is Albert (Roux). A lot of the boys get named after chefs.

Hi all! I have a flock that consists of chickens, ducks, and geese. For the longest time I have wanted to get ex battery hens. I have searched and searched online and no luck. I live in middle TN and am willing to drive a bit. We get way too many eggs as is and just give them to friends family and neighbors. I don’t want to get them for eggs, just to rescue some animals and give them a good life. If someone could direct me or connect me to someone I would appreciate it!

I get the impression that rescuing Ex Battery hens isn't as common a thing in the USA as it is in the UK so you may have problems finding some.

Dry, warmish and sunny again. It still gets chilly by the time I leave the allotments.
Ella having a bath. She rarely bathes with the rest. Even after almost a year she is still a bit of na outsider. It's partly due to her personality. I haven't seen any hostility from the others that isn't in the realms of normal. Henry likes her. Carbon isn't so keen on her and Lima avoids her much of the time.
Still, she's having a decent retirement. I think she misses her three friends who arrived with her. They stuck together, even roosted in the small coop together.

We all got out. Mackerel for supper. No herding shuffle from Henry today.

This reminded me of a song from my childhood. The only line I can remember is "you in your small corner and I in mine."

Lima resting in the shade of the fruit bushes. Still no sign of laying anything.

Henry looks out for her. He's with her a lot.

She went to roost early.

All on the coop extension roost bar as usual.

Fret trying to get in one of those non existent gaps again.
