Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

I don't think it was because of a fox. I haven't seen the vixen for months and I haven't seen the dog foxes that come courting for a while either. Possibly a dog loose in the field. I have a feeling that the problem was human. I can't explain in any rational manner why I think this, it's just I've seen them nervous after people problems and this seems much like it.
Do you have a padlock on the run, and only you have a key (or combination)? This is incredibly creepy; arm-hair raising level.

Human is way more creepy, than fox. I suppose if it was fox or any other 4-legged predator, you would see scat in the area.

Did you need coffee after that?

You can turn them off. I turned them off on my end.

This is Sylph checking out Mow who had taken a rest. Sylph I think gets worried when she sees a chicken sitting down. Most of the others who sat down a lot ended up dead.

(Doing my best to start my own thread. I write my final exam this weekend, and I have three weeks before fall semester begins.)

Just glanced up and saw them up on a perch in their run. For reference, this particular limb is about 3’/1m off the ground. Smart birdies!
