I haven't seen it here in the UK.
I use Hibiscrub for disinfecting and this

for wound healing.

We had a product, called Hibiclens that we used to scrub up before surgical procedures. It is probably the same product, we just call it something different, because centuries later we are still rebelling. ;-)

A dry and partly sunny afternoon. I spilt some chicken shite compost on my trousers and had plenty of room on the bus home.

What I want to know is why Fret has been roosting on the other bar for the past few days and not next to Henry? Here they are tonight.

Happily dust bathing.

Eating and out foraging.

Planting today.

Filling in the herb patch slowly. Dill, Basil and Corriander put in the ground. I may be a bit early.

Almost forgot the apple blossom.

We probably never understand our chickens behaviour completely.
We often see what they do, but not why. Sometimes its obvious because we can relate to an event sometimes we can’t.

Maybe it has to do with Dig missing?. Maybe she wants max. air because of the puncture?

The way you capitalized Dill, Basil, and Corriander made me think it was some chicken's name.

(Well, now you have names for your next chickens whenever chicken math gets its grip on you).

That is odd. Normally when you snap the roost pic, Mow is on that side and Fret is as close to Henry as possible. Could it be due to the wound or because she has been considering sitting again?

Only a guess--maybe since she doesn't feel a desperate need for Henry's protection any longer she's giving herself a little bit of space?

Another dry afternoon with bouts of sunshine.
Henry waiting for me to open the gate. Mow and Carbon are still eating.

It seems Mow is establishing her right to eat with the rest. I put some food in the coop extension but she waited until she could find a gap and joined in with the rest outside.

Might there be any jostling or restlessness from the others' nocturnal movements on the roost that she wishes to avoid while nursing that wound?

I don't know. I doubt it's the wound. Easy to read many things into it.
