Any port in a storm when you are the bottom of the pecking order and broody & everyone’s getting on your case

And going full on tom turkey when any other chook gets near….

Bless her she’s got the broody hormones, is getting hassled & isn’t sitting on a nest today & trying to mostly stay away from the others so poor thing doesn’t know if she’s coming or going :idunno

Tax, a new waterer that I love! Ordered from Premier1. Took the girls ten minutes to test it, then another five minutes to realize that they don’t all have to drink from one outlet.

I put their old waterer underneath to lure them over.

@BDutch it’s made by OLBA Holland. Are you familiar with them? It’s called AviAqua.

I find metric recipes bewildering, because US food measurements are nearly always by volume - cups, tablespoons, fluid ounces, and so forth, yet British recipes are generally by weight/mass - kilos, grams.

When they have been converted in either direction, I never know whether to believe the new measurements, because I don’t know if they took the density of the ingredient being measured into account. You can’t just go with any old direct conversion from volume to mass and back again! Did they re-weigh everything?!
:barnie
I actually bought a kitchen scale so that I can make the Egg Thief's favourite recipes from home. (Spotted Dick, Victoria Sponge, Sticky Toffee pudding, etc..)

I bought something else from the same brand: oil baths against red mites traveling to and from the roost in the playhouse.

@Shadrach, at some point could you re-post individual pictures of each hen with her name, and for the two who look somewhat alike, could you please note how we tell one from another?

I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve lost track of which is which, except for Mow.
I will.:)
