I didn't know D&P was also a TV series. I won't bother to look for it because it'll be on a channel we don't get, and I don't have the patience to watch TV anymore. The commercials piss me off. I have to really, REALLY want to watch a show to put up with commercials.

For the news, I'll catch the headlines and I want to see the weather report. Other than that, the world can happen without me.
An overload of commercials pisses me off too.

On the Dutch national TV we only have commercials before/after the broadcast.
For € 4 a month, we can watch old BBC series and postponed national TV without commercials.

I pay more, about € 9 a month to watch many more broadcasters like Belgium and BBC-NL too. Its possible to postpone watching without commercials, except for some of the commercial programs.

We watch Youtube music sometimes until I have seen enough advertising.

Three hours today. warm at 24C, still dry with bursts of sunshine.
I should have finished off the front fence this afternoon but got chatting to someone at the field.
My eldest and husband are cycling around Cornwall and they've sent me pictures of the sea. I need to go and sit by the sea for a while.

Me, Sylph and Mow discussing roosters.

Gorgeous pic coming through the grasses and wild flowers. I also love the one where they are facing each other...lots of captions would work for that one! ❤️

These folk are in Lincs but seem to be willing and able to sort transport all over the place if needed (they had replies to this post from people in west Wales and Norfolk, and told them to get in touch to arrange something). Same group that have now caught the M1 cockerel after several nights staying in a hotel so they could go and search along the motorway from the crack of dawn. No bother if this isn't helpful, just thought I'd mention it.

Nice-looking boys; any idea what breed(-ish) they might be?

So Trudy the lunatic is back to being Broody Trudy. 🙄

She’s been pretty testy the last few days, and this afternoon she started making a strange musical growl whenever she saw the Littles. (This was out in the yard, nowhere close to the coop.) She then moved to the coop and started growling more loudly at them, as they hung out under the coop platform. She raised her hackles and fluffed at them, and went to the nest boxes, trying to roll the two fake eggs from one box to the other, to make a total of four. 🙄🙄

So now she’s growling away on her preferred nest of four fake eggs with the camping fan blowing full blast on her, heading into the night. I’m not inclined to mess with her now. I’ll bring out the full ammo in the morning (fan, ice packs in the nest, and if necessary, formal broody jail.)

She is the single worst candidate I have ever seen for hatching and raising chicks. A drama llama with the attention span of a cockroach.
Update: This is her third day (and second night) of being in broody jail, and it may have worked. 🤞 Her other two hatchmates lay between 8 and 9 in the morning, so I have kept her in the dog crate until they've laid. Then I close up the (Nestera) coop entirely, and let her out.

Today (third day), she hasn't fluffed once, has stopped growling, runs around with her buddies, and is acting like her usual wacko self. :rolleyes:Hubs will reopen the coop and lock them all in the run tonight around 8 tonight, and when I get home around 9:30 from rehearsal, I'll check to see if she's on a nest. If she is, back to broody jail. If she isn't, we'll say she's done, and wait for the next one to go banana-crackers.

- adding: it has been sweet and heartbreaking and hysterically funny all at once to see her hatchmates Buffy and Diamond Lil go visit her outside her cage, Buffy making worried murmuring sounds.
