Welcome to Wrexham , and Neyland and Queensferry

The 4th is presumably the egg I found cold next to, not under, Paprika on opening up exactly a week ago; maybe it will hatch late, maybe it died, maybe something else went wrong there, time will tell. But she has gone back on after a quick breakfast, so she hasn't given up on it, and the hatched chicks can wait there a day or two, especially since it is forecast to rain all day here today.

Congrats Perris! Rooting for you these fluffy chicks turn into 3 wonderful pullets.

Did you give the name Wrexham to the partridge coloured one? I would have with such names. The name Queensferry has a better feel for the white chick, bc her down looks as if she is wearing a white ermine fur coat.

In the meantime, I hope Shad has someone to look after him too. Like J who takes care of the chickens. Bc my guts tell me the Covid made him very sick .

yes, spot on Hopefully Wrexham will have plenty of red in their adult plumage, and the other two may come to resemble Sully.

Of course I've got someone looking after me. Meet Boris. He/she has been living in that corner for over a year now. They caught quite a few of the insects that have flown in. They've got disgusting eating habits. I just haven't had the heart to evict them. I've had to remove bits of their web from time to time, just to try to keep their expansion a bit under control.

We've had a bit of rain. I'll clean up a bit when I get to the field, maybe tomorrow. I managed the walk down to the shops yesterday and mostly whats making me feel rough at the moment is the antibiotics a got prescribed for the chest infection I acquired.
