Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

She must somehow find the roosterist’s standoffishness to be irresistible! Perhaps she has hacked your phone given she’s on, you’re decidedly off 🤔💡

Sounds like the naughty rat needs a permanent relocation package.

How is your eldest’s husband doing?
He's out of hospital. Minor impaired coordination and he can't read properly.
That should all come back hopefully.
He's a lovely man, rather old school for a forty year old so we get on well anyway.🥰

Very happy to hear he's out of the hospital and expected to recover.
A strange thing. He's triathlon fit and he works at the hospital. He's had covid more times than I can recall. He worked on the covid department when the regular staff got sick, or just plain worn out.

The hospital offer anti virus jabs to their staff and he was just passing by that department and thought he would get a flu jab. In the next hour his blood pressure shot up, raging headache and slurred speech. MRI scan shows a blood clot.

Woke up this morning...
By the end of the day, my eldest's husband had had a stroke, the youngest had been misdiagnosed with shingles, in fact, after a second opinion, it was found to be another virus, a friend here has a prostate operation go wrong, the rat has been back overnight and my phone keeps switching itself off and, I've got a women at the flats that wants to be my friend and is getting close to stalking me.

Two hours, no rain, some sunshine. Not sure what the temperature was because I had to leave the field quickly to get to hospital.
I got them out. They charged back to the coop after I fed them their meat and a couple of blueberries each. I went and ushered them out but instead of guiding them onto the field I ushered them up the run between the chicken coop and the goose run. I ushered them into the cage for a while and then out around it. They were fine in the cage. I left the door open and stood outside. They seem to know that the cage is secure despite being able to see through the wire. Once they had been out a while, about half an hour in this area, they all settled down and went bug and plant hunting.

I can make a couple of cage type structures. I have some of those U shaped canes which will do for one and some stock net I can make another with. These should be light enough to move around to find where the chickens like it and easy enough to make windproof.
The dog house hasn't proven to be of any interest to any of them.

I'm sorry to hear of your family's health issues. :hugs

Slightly off topic from chickens, but I installed an update for the BYC app that promised to fix the issue with uploading photos (previously I had to open up the website if I wanted to post pictures, very inconvenient). Pictures seem to work now, but it appears that the app has decided that it must stick ads in between posts in forums now. I have an adblocker, but the grey rectangles are still pretty intrusive (attached). It seems the changelog failed to mention this
I used a browser Ecosia*, hosted in EU with ad blockers too. Until a few weeks ago this worked just fine. But not anymore. I too had troubles with uploading photo’s, replying, giving a 👍❤️ . But not all the time. Very strange.

*Ecosia is an environmental friendly browser that is privacy focused and moves away from the American big tech :

The BYC site doesn’t seem to like it and becomes a nuisance if we don’t see ads 🧐 .

was it a TIA? My mum had 9 of them. Sounds frightening, but really is, as called, transient. Cancer got her in the end.

Having noticed how large Talgarth's comb now is, I have been reading up about roosters' combs this morning. Those ads promoting this, that or the other with hyaluronic acid will never look the same again  Specifically, I shall imagine a roo superimposed on the image :D

Glais has enormous wattles too. Merioneth is also well blessed in the head ornament department. I wonder what was in the water when that clutch was created!? Anyway, the three of them should have enough natural lubricant to keep their joints moving free and easy for ever :gig
