Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Turkey, a piece of stuffing, a bit of sausage and cauliflower cheese.:D
Cauliflower cheese reminds me of a recipe that I personally call “The Widowmaker.” The actual name is “loaded cauliflower”; essentially a loaded baked potato with all the lusciously evil ingredients, except on cauliflower instead of the tater.

Husbands, if you get served this, rejoice in its tastiness, but realize that your wife may be trying to love you to death:

Just looking at the ingredient list makes me feel one coronary artery after another quietly shut down.

It’s awfully good! I shorten my path to living solo by using frozen cauliflower florets instead of chopping up a head of cauliflower, which in my experience results in an explosion of itty-bitty cauliflower bits.

Dinner now rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon. Older daughter and her family hit the road early Thursday morning; Hubs and I leave for Pacific Grove CA Friday morning, so be there or be square.

Presents were exchanged today under masks and with windows open. I got my traditional personalized coffee mug and my grandma photo album.

My favorite pic below from this year, taken when older daughter and her family were on their yearly trip to Alabama Gulf Shores with his family.

My son-in-law was playing night Frisbee the evening before with a glow-in-the dark Frisbee, and tripped over a deliberately camouflaged storage locker for beach equipment and knocked out his upper two front tooth. Pic taken the next day with him gamely inserting the broken teeth in place, everything fine, except the younger grandson decided not:

He’s actually a very sweet kid with a fondness for blue shave ice:

So my son came down with the GI bug this morning and is stuck in Knoxville, so those still standing upright are going to fling packages at one another in thirty minutes, then run like hayull.

I found this out as I was almost finished cooking. Now to find room in the fridge to store the food for some undetermined future date to eat together. 🌲🤢🌲
The eldest succumbed to a flu type bug the day after Christmas so I am the last one standing.:fl
