I was kind of surprised the other day when another plot holder turned up with some spare fruit from the community fridge where he volunteers, and they all made a beeline back to the chicken plot with the Light Sussex boy leading the way. They're usually pretty relaxed about people - Wednesday in particular can apparently just be picked up by complete strangers and plonked back on the other side of the fence, like a football left out in the street once bairns have gone home for their tea - and this guy brings them food! He definitely doesn't set off any alarm bells for me and I've always been relaxed and chatty with him in front of the birds.
