Share photos and stories of your ducks or wild ducks

My husband and I were talking last night. We knew we would enjoy our ducks when we got them. We love animals. But, we didn't know we would enjoy them as much as we have.

There's nothing like being met at the door when going outside by a stampeding flock of ducks that seem genuinely happy to see you, and then, talk to you the whole way to the "treat station" like a giddy pre-schooler.

Yesterday, I unplugged and sat in the backyard on my new chair my husband got for me. It reclines into a chaise-type lounger. I had a book with me and laid back and read. Our runner, Duckter J, kept coming back to look at me every few minutes. He would do that adorable side-cocked look, as if trying to figure out if what I was doing was "okay". He's never seen me lay down, so I am sure it was a sight. After looking at me for a couple of seconds, he would do his raspy "wah-wah" sounds and go off to be with the others, only to return a few minutes later and do the whole thing over again.
Oh, that makes me so happy I want to cry! My Daisy used to do that with me but come spring I'm hoping I will have another sweet bunch of ducklings that will want to do the same!

Our two calls. Male and female.
We purchased the top two as Anconas however we have heard from a few people that they may not be. However, we don't care. They are almost 5 months old, waiting on our first eggs.
The calls are also about 4-5 months old. We aquired them from a friend about 2 months ago after he needed to reduce some numbers of his expanding flock. She is very vocal for a little girl.
They do well with our chicks and chickens. We have one 1 year old, three 5 month olds, and six 3 month olds.

My wife wanted to kill me when we opened our delivery of chicks and there was two ducks in there. I played it off that I had no idea how they got in there but she wasn't buying it. Then when the second two arrived a few months later and she couldn't figure out why when she went to put them away there was more again she didn't buy my ignorance. But we are both excited for the eggs to start coming.
