Love these, CC!! We used to do the Jesse Tree, but I'm not sure if we're going to do it this year. One of the Jesse tree ornaments
That sounds wonderful!Love these, CC!! We used to do the Jesse Tree, but I'm not sure if we're going to do it this year.
This year, we're going to start decorating our tree on St. Lucia's Feast Day, and then keep decorating throughout Advent and finish on Christmas.
Mama, me and my siblings always make a bunch of snacks for the folks 'round here and put a card of Jesus's birth with the snacks for themWelcome to the Advent Traditions/activities thread! All are welcome!
I would love too hear about all your Traditions you do during this season of Advent, As we prepare for the coming of Our Lord. If you don't have any, you are welcome to follow along and learn some new traditions!
And I would like too hear what you do for Christmas as well!
Here are some of my Traditions!
The Advent candles
(three are purple and one is pink). The candles represent Jesus coming as a light in the darkness. One candle is lit each Sunday until all four candles are lit. As Christmas draws nearer, each candle brings a little more light into the darkness. Sometimes a white candle is lit on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to symbolize that Jesus is with us. This can be referred to as the "Christ candle."

The Jesse Tree ( more of a lost tradition)
I have been doing the Jesse tree for my whole life and found it as a beautiful tradition.
What is the Jesse tree?
The Jesse Tree is a decorated tree or branch, typically adorned with ornaments representing biblical figures and events leading up to the birth of Jesus. Each ornament is associated with a specific Bible passage, which is read and reflected upon during the Advent season

That's a lovely idea. I want to sew some clothes and quilts for the charity that deals with such things, but there's never enough time.Mama, me and my siblings always make a bunch of snacks for the folks 'round here and put a card of Jesus's birth with the snacks for them![]()

We've tried to do stuff like that in the past but like you said time is a problem and money for us to buy the supplies. We do the Operation Christmas Child boxes though. Which is really fun and your supporting a Christian organizationThat's a lovely idea. I want to sew some clothes and quilts for the charity that deals with such things, but there's never enough time.
