Marans. I have Black Copper and Blue Birchen Marans. The Blue Birchen are almost as dark as the Black Copper and their eggs are often speckled. Sooo pretty!

Yes, I have one Black Copper Marans and 2 Blue/Black/Splash Marans. The BBSMs just started laying and their eggs are a bit darker than the BCM egg. Not sure if it’s normal or just because they are so new and young.

My Brahma hen's eggs are often darker when they are younger too, but never that dark. Those are really beautiful eggs!
