Gotta share this "I feel so stupid" moment. I took the thermometer/hygrometer out of the bator this morning to put a new battery in it. I cleared the temp history that was in it and laid it on top of the bator. I did not put it back in because I was in a hurry to get my daughter to a doctor appt.. This afternoon, I went and looked and the temp was 99.3 in the water wiggler. So far so good. So I pressed the history button and up pops 73 degrees. I nearly cried. It took me a few minutes to realize that because I had not put the thing back in the bator the "indoor" temp was not the temp inside the bator, but outside where I had left it!! LOL. And then, it hit me. I've been stressing about that number (indoor) way more than I should. It's the water wiggler temps (the "outside" history because I have the probe in there) that are staying so steady. And since they approximate the eggs, we are good. I made this mistake the entire last hatch and messed with way to much because I didn't just have stupid moment, but a stupid month!! "I" caused all kinds of fluctuations because I thought those were highs and lows of the same measurement. Stupid, stupid, stupid, lol.
Really, I'm not usually this dumb. But this was pretty funny after I thought about it and calmed down. And to think how I worried myself and you guys so much with the last hatch with those temps. Geez.
Thought you all might get a good laugh at this inexperienced hatcher who just had an epiphany!!
Duh!
