Bob, you need to take her keys! She should NOT be driving!!!
bob, you need to intervene. we had a very sad case last dec here in maine where a woman from NH dressed in a tank top and shorts (dec= snow and cold temps) left home not telling anyone where she was going, she had a one car accident and walked away from the scene on I95- originally they thought she got a ride with someone but she was found dead, not that far from where her car went off the road, conditions were icy that day, most people shouldn't have even been on the road, she died probably of hypothermia. while she didn't have Alzheimer's, she had a history of bi-polar the end result was the same, tragic

UGH! So depressing! I have a friend whose Mom has dementia and she got in her car, drove about 2 minutes from home, drove her car into a telephone pole (KNOCKED IT OVER), and continued to drive the car to the store to get bread. When asked about it, she said she didn't hit anything (could have been a person and she would never even have known). My friend and her two brother's took the keys and reported the incident to DMV and her DR. She hasn't driven since. She was MAD as you know what, but, it was better than her killing herself in another accident or anyone else.
On a happier note: HEY there PC and Phage!!! PC, what the heck...I miss seeing your posts!!!
