Hi Dak & Phage.... how you B? Maybe dumb ? but ...."Lurgy"?

Sorry - common UK way of describing undefined flu type illness.
I am so fed up with coughing. Head and everything else hurts.

Pretty well thanks. It is amazing how different the house looks cleaned and decorated. Tree went up 2 hours before first guest arrived. Wiped me out though.

maybe it's a false pregnancy.

Let's hope. But like I said, she's had those before but never looked quite this pregnant. Maybe she has just really convinced herself, this time. *sigh* I'll find out tomorrow morning.

One of the reasons I joined BYC was because of all the great people and information that was available, especially about peafowl. I had always wanted a peacock but knew nothing about how to look after them. Most of what I know about peafowl I got from the peafowl section here on BCY.

One of main contributors and a huge authority on peafowl giving advise and answering the same dumb newbie questions over and over again without judgment or irritation (signs of a truly great and wise person) was a guy called Deerman.
Deerman has without a doubt saved and improved the lives of 100's if not 1000's of peachicks, and their owners, as well as educated a generation of peafowl owners.

I have recently found out that during that period he was battling cancer and found that passing on his experience and knowledge was helpful for him to get through a tough time.

Unfortunately he learnt a week ago that the cancer has returned. Deerman is selling all his birds to focus on beating it again, and his family. The good news is that he is having surgery after Christmas to remove the reoccurrence.

There is a BCY group (nat is one of them) that is lighting candles for him. These have to be relit every 2 days.
Yesterday he said that BYC and the candles are really helping his sprits to beat this.

Anyone who would like to please join us PLEASE DO.
