Yay, for another lotto rollover!

I candle day 7 and remove the non active eggs....That will leave about 3-5 on top.
Day 18 I check again and most of the time I will only have 1 or 2 on top or none at all. If there are any on top at lock down I move then to the sides where they are only on top of the wad of wax paper on the end of the row. In the winter I usually put 36 in it because I know at least 5-10 of them won't make it because they either got to cold in transport or too cold in the coop...I get home late to collect eggs. During the spring I usually only stack around the edges because I will have fewer clears. Once a half dozen or so hatch I pull out the chicks...one hand on the lid and the other pulls them out like lightning. I don't open it all the way and I usually leave one chick in there...one that is still drying to keep the humidity up and encourage the others out. Brinsea's recover very quickly in humidity and temp so I rarely have a problem at hatch time. 90% of the time I have 20-25 hatch...I like having full hatches that's why I started stacking. There's always at least a few clears and I want lots of babies.

Nat you want to update post #1 I have in right now...due 1/27

Sent THANK YOU!!

I think we should have a etiquette rule, not that we don't anyway, that if you are lucky enough to be sent test eggs by a fellow BCYER that in future auctions by the sender we take time to support them/show pics etc.

As for the lotto, you do realize that we have won EVERY time so far!!! Rollover!!!!!!

Did you get yours from Terry S?
If so could you post some pics?
The ones I kept were taken by raccoons and I would love to see how they look full grown.

The pullet looks more like a barred WC Black, but she is getting some brown under her chin. They are about 6 !/2 months old. The pullet has been laying for about 3 weeks.

I am planning on getting more eggs this Spring, as I really like the color. They are LF. I would love to see Frizzles too. I have some BL Polish roos with the Frizzle gene so we'll see what happens there.

I will have to learn what the genetics are for developing this color.
