I did laundry and dishes from breakfast then crawled back into bed. I took some cold medicine...but, it's not making me sleepy at all...weird.

Sorry you feel bad! Some cold medicine does that - keeps you wide awake so you can participate in every minute of your cold!

WOW! Do you have any pics? Sounds beeeyoooootiful! I love bulbs and they are hard to grow down here.

Who are you talking to? If it is me, I can't find my pics on my SD cards. They are on facebook, though. Are you on there Cindy? I dug up a ton of bulbs and gave them to friends last year. I still have a bunch...if they will survive TX heat, I'll bring some to Lovins.

Talkin' to you Muggs! Thank you, but autumn crocus won't survive the heat.

Best bet with bulbs down here is something that flowers insanely early - I already have some jonquils blooming - or something that can just tough out the heat, or a tropical bulb.

To my knowledge, but I think it would be impossible to label all the possible genes without some redundancy. There are only so many letters.

They should have small bulbils form at the junction of each leaf with the stem. They can also form seed. If they like NY I seriously doubt they will like zone 9, but I could try them in afternoon shade or something, though they will probably die a slow, horrible death.

J...they have tubors. Easy to split and propagate. Brin...they can grow in zones up to 10. Just keep them wet...they like moist soil. That's why they are called ditch lilies.

Im with Muggs anything I can plant and they can take care of themselves year after year with minor care IM IN!!! hope you guys are bringing bulbs to sell I want some!!

We planted 300 tulips last year!!!

Lilies we have in the ditches down here are crinums!

I would love to give them a try. I have a book by a guy who is famous for developing new crinum cultivars and he goes over all the bulbs he has managed to grow down here. Master gardener type - a lot of things won't grown on the Gulf Coast that would grow in the same heat zone in like California. The humidity with the accompanying fungi rusts and bugs are hard on things.

So, this is what my bedroom looks like a few weeks into the growing season, which will start for us either this week or next week. This in minor compared to how it looks about 2 months in and I have red cups EVERYWHERE!!!!
