Oh Sem Im sorry--are you sure its just not intestinal lining being shed??? That is normal from time to time too??

Hi, no it's coccidiosis. She's laying on her side right now with her eyes closed. Is there any hope? I'm treating the others, and one more that was questionable is eating and drinking (the med in the water), so I hope it should be okay. I moved them all to a bigger closed coop 3x5 so I can see all the poop easier.

Do you know how to give sub-cutaneous fluids to birds?
Can you give some medicated water mixed w/ sugar water by syringe or dropper?
I'm so sorry about your chick.

I found another chick with bloody poop. The orp from the car-egg. I put him in the cage too. Brindle, I was giving droppers of water with the med in it. It probably saved her.

Better news: They are both eating and drinking. Yeah!!!! Man I thought the first one when she was laying on her side was a goner. But she sat up and I just keep telling them : drink drink drink eat eat eat!

I have 2 pips and should have chicks by tonight. I'm anxious to see what D'uccles look like, LOL

I have a crested magpie "Chuckie" and two khaki cambells runner girls-just got them this past Sat-very skittish and scared of us but once we catch them they are snuggle bugs-

Oh and pasty butts-I havent had that in the last 3 hatches. When I do get it though. I dont wash butts I hate it-I cut it off with sharp scissors--that way when they poop again theres no fluff to snag it. It takes about a week for the fluff to grow back but thats when the pasty butt ends anyway. I had it with about 10 chicks last year and was getting very irritated at all the but baths-so I just cured it all and cut butt fluff at the first sign of it!

To be honest...I don't wash it either...Greg takes it off....they look funny with barebutts but it does grow back....I just don't understand why the heck they are gettin it...maybe stressed from shipping?? It is all the BLRW chicks....which weren't cheep haha
