What cuteness today! First off I put Natalie, El and the mutt in with the silkies for the night. This morning, I guess they didn't like the accomadations because all 3 had "flown the coop". The good thing is that they were hanging out with the rest of the flock, and mosying in the grass, not hiding around back, then actually found the food bowl in the coop. All is well.
Tonight when I locked them up, the three were on the roost in the pen, my JG roo jumped up and right away Natalie put her wings out and the two others snuggled underneath. So cute!
I think Natalie thinks she's their mom, and El, who is small for a BO, still peeps, but acts like a gentleman. The other two eat, and he kindof stands watch till they're done, then eats. So he knows he's their roo, but Natalie knows she's their mother. Pretty funny.
Natalie never wanted to have anything to do with me from a baby on. But in the last 2 weeks, she really likes me now, and hangs around me, and pecks at my clothes, and doesn't freak out if I have to pick her up. I'm glad, she's a beautiful bird, and will probably be a good broody one day.
