We had a 105F heat index this evening at 6:30 and I was out in the sun moving heavy equipment and sweating like the proverbial swine. It was awful! I have to cover all of my lily white dimpled hide - so I have on jeans and a long sleeve shirt and my ever-so-stylish

sun hat.

And then 'bout halfway through class we start hearing thunder and this huge thunderhead comes over the trees and we can see cloud to ground lightning, but the breeze from the storm makes it cooler so I'm working everybody's butt. People started getting really worried about the lightning and taking off. And suddenly it starts pouring. So we ran.

Worst rain I have driven in in a LONG time. The streets were already flooding by the time I got to the main road.

Sorry ya'll are roasting up north. When we were up there, the place we stayed didn't have air conditioning, just a furnace.

here are my mottled ameraucana(well 1 mottled and 1 split)
eta-they have started to molt so they aren't looking their best

she is usually not that white, she changes all the time. She started out more blue and had the light spangles. If I already had a breeding program I probably wouldn't use her as I think she has too many whiteish colored feathers but since I don't I am going to try to use her and see what I can get. I am going to also do it as a side project that will throw mottled when I try to do my mille fluer(if I can make it work with the birds I have)....

she's a bantam, but by the size of the eggs, you would never know, they are as large as my wyandottes but skinny long.
