shutup!!!! If you have an extra pullet or two you want to sell bring them chickenstock-I have a 1 miller fluer cochin roo-8 weeks old and he is so cute he needs a rightfull breeding pair:) congrats they are so so adorable!

Will do! If I can't get there I would definitely meet with Gretchen somewhere and send them with her if she's agreeable! They are so cute! And Nat, two more of my OE's from you are finally squatting so I'm waiting for eggs anyday now!!! I'll keep you posted on the MFC's!

ohhh more beautiful eggs! Lovins and I had a hard year with those buggers we got roo after roo! I wound up with only 1 new hen:-(

my son and I are off to the poultry show this weekend. can't decide what to show.
do we go with the silkie, missing a toenail? do we show the blr that was know are not a qualified color? do we show the frizzled silkie which may not be a qualified breed?
we both showed last yr and he got disqualified due to mix breed. I don't want him to be upset again this yr.
oh what to do??

Go to Jamie Matts website. It's listed on the cochin international webpage. He has LF and bantam mottles. Very pretty.

I only have these 2 girls, and there is some debate now as to if this is just juvenile white. So we''ll see how they turn out and if a boy is available. Hurry up and wait again.........

Hurry up and wait! Isn't it always!

So the white may go away? I know you want blacks, but from my pov that would be oh too bad.

I have this gorgeous, beautifully colored imho, black ameraucana pullet that has brilliant green and blue sheen. Sometimes with a little purple. She almost looks like an iridescent green june bug (don't know if ya'll have those up north?). I don't know if it is correct or not, but it sure is pretty. I've tried to get a pic of it but can't get the sheen to pic well. I'm feeding wheat germ oil and vits along with the treats. Don't know if that is it or not.

Henrietta the iron clad maiden may have to get a set of clip-on peepers. She is taking her motherly harrassment of the rest of the flock a bit far. *sigh* Why am I not surprised!?

I emailed pics of the girls in question to Tom Roebuck and he wasn't certain either way. The breeder still hasn't answered my emails. Thus the waiting. I may have to ask some bantam mottie people. I have a hard time believing that much white is going to disappear. I seem to remember reading on some thread about motties that you have to show them when they're young because they get more/ too much white as they age.

AS far as eggs go...I don't have a boy sooooo......

Henrietta sounds wonderful! Defending her brood from all comers!

1mommahen- 14/16 WOW!!!! and so cute!

Let me know. Several breeders on the cochin thread seem to have bantams from ?him?. I know, Jamie is so androgenous.
