I am with DAK and suspect that things would move MUCH faster if you were admitted. The problem at this point is that it s less of an emergency (to them) so unless things are getting worse that may be tricky (jaundice and throwing up may work).

when all this started last month, they put me in overnight the first time and then that weekend as I couldn't keep anything in/down. so now we are on week 3, almost 4 weeks without being better.
prilosec is for ulcers I just would have thought since he was going to looking up and down that he'd wait until he did that first and not at double the dose for 2 x as long. I am senetive to lots of drugs and vaccines, my titers shoot through the roof with only 1 set of shots and I can't things like aspirin or ibprofren as I react to those in a bad way.

I agree, you should be admitted to the hospital, and things would go much faster. You are being treated like a second class patient, and this has gone on long enough. I think Monday would be a really peachy time to pull a hissy with your primary care Dr., or whoever is in charge at the moment. You have gone from extreme anemia to having your liver on the fritz, and now you can't keep anything down. How much weight have you lost? You need to be in hospital with an IV in your arm to keep you hydrated and something in with it to keep you from vomiting. It is ridiculous that you have been vomiting for so long. Has your Dr. taken you off the Prilosec, yet? If not, I would speak to somebody on Monday about your concern that it might be causing the liver inflammation.

If I was there I would have been all over those doctors by now. Somebody needs to be your advocate for your care. Do you have somebody that can step in and kick Dr. butt? I'm serious. Frequently our medical system does not work well unless someone is there to push it along. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I've been through this, and somebody really needs to start making noise for you. I'm very concerned about your well being. Somebody is being far to casual about your care.

Are your red blood cells in normal range, yet?

Do you have an autoimmune issue? I remember the question being asked, but don't seem to remember the answer.

Yah, I asked about Lupus which can cause anemia and have liver issues. It sounds auto-immune/rheumatological to me. Or atleast has a really good chance of that sort of complication. Yes, Brin is right as is Dak and Phage, you need to be the proverbial squeeky wheel. When in doubt, puke in the ER and I kid you not about that. They HAVE to take this seriously. If they wont, then you ask to speak with the administrator on call. I wish I was closer, I'd come in and kick some arse for you. The fact that you react so strongly to vaccines also reeks of autoimmune...

Not to make light of the situation, but where is Dr. House when you need him?

i was checked for lupus and that was neg, not vomiting now (sorry, they got that controlled that night in the ER), just nausated and yes stopped the prilosec this morning. I wonder if all these fasts that they have me on so they can do xyz test if that could make my liver angry. I'm not overly fat but fatty liver syndrome in cats comes to mind although I really think it's the prilosec causing the liver problem. I was really sick and in pain this morning, (ouchy pain not go to the ER pain) good ol heating pad seems to have helped. my red blood cells are at 35% up from 20 (45% is normal) and my hemoglobin is also better, I'm at 10 now (was at 6 and 15 is normal). they said I may be reacting to the IV iron they gave (I'd be that 1% that reacts) or the prilosec. tonight is better, not so nausated.
I've not lost much weight, I think mostly because I eat all the time. I make myself eat when I want to throw up because sometimes it makes me feel better, other times not.
monday i will have results on the pill cam not that at this time, that probably won't matter.they also did a special kind of hepatitus test, must not be common as the lab tech had to call 3 people to find out what tubes to use.

Fatty Liver does not usually come on quite this quickly. I think you're reacting as you said. Not sure what would be it, but could be the iron, it can be exceptionally hard on the body, which is why your stool turns black and you get constipated with it. No idea Hoppy but you need to keep on it.

tomorrow is bloodwork day, hopefully it's better.
but on another note, my hen crowed at me today. and yes, she is a she, she's the mother to most of the blr I sold eggs from. I sold my rooster about 2 weeks ago and I hear this morning a crowing and I turn around and say to her, "was that you?" and she did it again although not a very good crowing. she has not laid eggs in about 2 weeks so I think she may have a cyst or whatever it is they get that make them think they are not so girly anymore. thankfully I held back lots of girls this year and probably only 1 boy. he will be busy. I wanted to hold back 2 boys but I had mostly girls this yr.

I had my camera pill, that was interesting and I ended up fasting for 26 hours, I was starving when I was done, finished way a head of schedule and they didn't want the camera back. it took a 4 hour trip from end to end (I know, too much info)
I've not heard back from the dr yet but I noticed I am changing color and not in a good way. kind of yellowy brown. eyes mild yellow so back for more blood work today which will tell me how my counts are doing and my liver. I am sick to my stomach today.
yes both the washer and dryer died. the washer is hobbling through but is expected to die (or take off by the way it sounds) soon. sent the day yesterday online looking up washer/dryers, mine died of a common problem at about the time most of them do from this (dry bearings) figured have that checked while the repair man was here, I thought it was off balance- front loader.
so today spent the day looking at washer /dryers and going to the hospital for the blood draw.
I'm so sick of being sick! I can walk further so I think that count is better just wish I had some answers.

When do you hear about the camera study?
Sounds like your liver is working overtime processing the blood breakdown products. Nate is right sunbathe and relax!
Good news that you are walking further.

Yea, do what she says. Hope you're okay Hoppy. Your washer/dryer might have had a power surge if they both died the same day.

That's pretty funny that a hen is crowing.

I got here safe, and the bad weather was gone.
I'm just not used to being "on" all day. I am usually alone at home. I miss my chooks and my horses. My DD dragged me to a Lego store in Austin on Friday. (I want to look at chickens and horse equip. not Legos!) Then we went to the outlets. I love outlets, but I HATE going into high end stores and drooling while you're the only one in there with 3 salespeople that know you're not going to buy anything . I would rather skip the outlets and go to Kohl's and maybe Dillards (Kohl's to spend and Dillards to browse) Dillards is like Macy's .

My DD I guess had to vent for 2 days!!!! I can't listen that long, LOL. Brindle, I finally got to meet the new dog, he's an English Staff Terrier, I guess smaller than yours. He's cute, he thinks I'm his best friend. But he really needs some manners. I would like to see him sit, stay, drop what's in his mouth on command, not chew on me anymore....other than obedience training, he's a lovely dog with a wonderful happy personality. But I wish they would realize that the whole family has to work with training. At 8 months old he's cute, but when he gets older, he needs to listen well.

Hope things are well with you all.

I'm not allowed to have snacks upstairs in my borrowed room, so pleeze don't tell that I have them hidden in my suitcase cause I like to read in bed, and nibble on something!
