OMG!!!!that dish you're feeding from was my mother's china pattern....mom and dad traveled to winsor, canada from detroit to buy it. My sister got it when they passed and trashed it.

My Aunt bought that set in Belgium. I know that buying pieces are outrageously expensive.

Paradise, I think she's a gray splash. My little Minniemouse. 3rd chick I ever hatched. I helped her out, and she near bled to death, so I threw some flour on her umbilicus and went to bed-couldn't take watching her. This year, I saved her from being over-heated, then a few months later, she was so overheated that she was laying on her side not moving, I brought her in the house and she spent that night and the next day inside. She's a real tough little thing.

Breaks my heart. I went to visit my sister in CA and found mom's china piled in the garage. She'd been using it as everyday dinnerware and the kids broke a number of pieces so she was dumping it. This was about three years ago. We don't speak anymore for a number of reasons.

What will Your broodies do when the eggs hatch? Share parenting duties?

Yeah, the funny thing was my mom was raised on a chicken farm in Maine, and she HATED eating eggs.

I just checked ebay. A coffee mug in this pattern is going for $40. Remind me to smack my sister again!

dak, I hope to took the last of them, they should be with someone that appreciates them.
did you say your mom was raised on a chicken farm in maine- after seeing all the things that went on at the chicken farms in maine recently, no wonder she hated eating eggs.

update on bloodwork is everything is getting back to it's normal range so that's good. they are now testing me for heavy metals and that takes about a week for results. heavy metals are found in some batch of portland cement depending on where they got their materials and other heavy metals can be in stained glass. hopefully will have some results by friday and it['s treatable. this not knowing what made me sick to start with it hard. I'm feeling much better but i worry if we don't find the cause will I be this way again in 6 weeks, 6 months or will it never happen again?

With your levels getting back to normal, are you feeling better?

My sister would never have let me have them. She had plans on selling the remainder, but once things get put in her garage it is only a matter of time before she goes on a cleaning spree and throws every thing out. She took alot of my parent's things which she then got rid of without asking my brother or I if we wanted them.

I think mom's dislike stemmed from too much of a single thing. From what I can gather they were poor and I imagine they ate what was available. Mom was born in 1926 so I can only imagine. She didn't talk about it much. I do think it's funny that my grandfather was a chicken man....maybe I have a genetic prediliction toward poultry husbandry.
