It's going to be hard enough to finish this half finished house, then try showing it with chicken dust and chicks in a brooder in the master bedroom.. eh... no...

The only thing in the bator right now is two double yolkers for Phage

Jen, have you talked to Tom about when to expect your birds? I just heard mine are to be expected the second week in Nov.

Will someone explain the whole silkie craze to me. Not bashing, just don't understand.

IDK really-I just fell in love with them when i first started-when I started-I got lucky and got a lav roo and got some black silkie pullets-not realizing what I had I was just a chicken keeper??? Then as time went on and reading adn learning I mated my group to get splits then teh splits to get better and more lavs:) Right now the silkie thing is huge!! It seems all of a sudden but I think its because there are alot of shows going on and such-so peole want silkies to show? Me personally I just love the pretty yard art:)

From Tom:

Jennifer,
I didn't hatch a huge number of partridge this year and therefore after
culling don't have anything I'd like to part with at the moment. I
may let a pair go after breeding season in the spring so if that would
work you could ping me again in April or so.
Tom

As for the silkie craze, I swore I would never own any and then, day by day...the more I saw them, the more I wanted to give them a try. I bought some from Sassy Silkies and just loved them. They are so different and well, CUTE!
