Have you ever just wanted to give up.
I have had the work luck with chickens this month. I lost my lf blue cochin hen a week ago (no idea why, she was fine and the next morning she had passed), so down to a pair. Then, I lost 8 babies earlier this week (were going to be adorable, Catdance babies). Stuff happens, I understand.
But tonight, takes the cake. I spent over $500 this spring buying coronation and blrw hatching eggs from several sources. After bad hatches, accidental sales made by my daughter and normal stuff, I ended up with a pair of pure coronation (were 6 months) and 4 blrw hens and 6 roos (all 5-6 months old). I have ALOT of chickens. A stupid husky came onto my property, broke through a 6 foot fence and went in my "special" house and killed my pair of coronations and my favorite blrw hen. I am beside myself.
The dog's owner felt bad and said he would try to make it right. How? I feel like I have to start from scratch again. All that work and time. Not sure what to do. Just needed a place to vent, with other people who understand why I was bawling at the loss of my babies.
