I've had one Ameracauna hen who was a real jewel. Would fly onto and hang out on my shoulder alot. The roos were very standoffish, but calm. They never were aggressive or anything. I've never had an EE as an adult, but I like colored eggs. And fuzzy faces!
Yours are large fowl though, right? If I get the MF's and the silkies, I don't really want any more bantams I don't think.
. I'm still at the point were I don't like to admit I need help
, especially when I'm doing good. I hate to think how I'd be doing though without my animals and my byc friends
. I know I don't post much, but reading how everyone is doing and laughing and crying with y'all really helps a LOT
.
great present Seminole
!!! Also, congrats on your first pips
!
mommahen, those are some pretty chickies
.
Ace so sorry to hear about your nephew being back in, hope he gets better soon. Hope your son gets well soon too
.Just remember that sometimes the rock needs a lilttle tlc too
. I've been there before when everyone, including me, thought I could handle everything
. My next hatch will be mutts again
. I haven't finished my breeding pens yet
, but that's cool with me. Of course if my 8 month old silkies decide to start laying I'll have a few of them in there too
.
sonew, my meltdown was about 5 years ago, I had to learn to say "No, I can't handle anymore now, sorry but I love you."
. You sound a lot like me. I've been off meds for 2 years now
, no insurance. I can tell I really do need em
, just hate to admit it
. I should be back on em soon though so will have lots less down days
. I can't wait to see all the pics of your chickies, I LOVE chickie pics
.
Awwww those are some seriously cuddly lookin chicks chickenlittle
.
My hatch is now complete, 17 hatched outta 29 set, 25 of those went into lockdown
. The last 2 I had to help
, I lost 2 that I was too scared to help
. I talked to my friend Cindi while I was out driving Amy around job hunting and she gave me a confidence boost without knowing it
. When we got home I saw that the last 2 were still struggling to get out, the opening was drying out and they hadn't zipped after about 24 hours
. I was sooo scared, but I didn't want to lose them too, so I slowly start chipping away the shell. I have them separated for now because the last 1 had a distended belly and I didn't want it to be picked on but also didn't want it to be alone. I'm watchin to make sure the other chick in the can with it doesn't hurt it
.
Here's a group pic of my lil fuzzybutts:
And here's our favorite chickie:
And here's the last 2 that I helped:
You gals are killing me! I got to bed early and wake up to a bazillion pages to catch up on!!!!!!!!!! My white chick with feathered eggs from Natalie came out of the olive eggs so we'll see what happens!!! She is more beautiful in person!
