PS - I've enjoyed the posts about those frankenbird frou-frou chicken-wanna-bees.

I don't know the name, I've had them for 3 years and they work great. They only turn on to keep the water at 40 degrees I believe. I'm sure you'd find them at TSC website. I think they were around 20 bucks. I just put those thick rubber (horse?) bowls on them. Never had a problem!

Bob - Followed your instructions. I had 7 perfectly formed, drowned babies.

Don't know why this happened? Humidity too high??? 1 of the 7 made it past the inner membrane, but no further. The other 6 never made it through.

The one little lonely chick has been named SOLO, s/he is from an egg labeled "F". Can you remind me what the F stood for again?

It really is depressing! I was so excited for these since I lost my others to a raccoon.
