Oh, I have three chicks that hatched out yesterday, 1 pip that I can see and one that is zipping. These are b/b/s silkies from swheat and mhuddell.

All of my ultra1classic silkies are developing nicely! So whoo hoo to that!!!

The seller says she will send me more...there were six of them...2 Blue Coppers and 4 FBCM. Could have had a cold front pass thru...and I will suggest that she may use a smaller box or something...to help with warmth....

The lady at the PO was almost in tears when she brought them to me...she whispers...your babies are dead....I wanted to console her bc she felt so bad....

I wish all the PO employees were caring like her....I will suggest for the seller to see if there is a smaller box,or like you suggested Nat, those heating pad things...

I feel bad about talking about hatches now.
Some due later this week also have dreadful stats that can only get worse.

As a confessed hatchaholic I hatch a lot of eggs and sell most of the chicks to cover "some" of the egg costs (and give a lot to the 4H program).
BYC is like going to a bar/casino to feel good about your addiction!!!!!!!

These are the final results on the batch from Thurs/Friday

Mille Fleur cochins from onthespot- great hatch 16 babies
got 20 eggs
one blank, one early death.
18 went to lockdown
15 hatched spontaneously the 16th needed help but is totally fine
one pipped and died (very wet), and one did not pip

SILKIES - disappointing hatch this time - 9 babies
got 36 eggs. Many were free extras as they were older so I purchased 24. I love this seller.
20 went to lockdown
7 hatched spontaneously, 2 needed help after pipping but are totally fine.
one is still alive but not moving much. Membranes are still vascular so I can't help it much. Not holding out too much hope.

8 Natalies super mix (3/27/10)
10 ish/24 splash marans from Ebay (LOTS of blanks) (3/27/10)
10 ish/24 pure bred mix mostly marans from same Ebay seller (LOTS of blanks) (3/30/10)

6 or less/14 wheaten marans from BYC (LOTs of blanks) 4/2/10
