Lovin, glad to hear about Dottie! Hopefully she just keeps getting better and better! And some other join her that are her age.

Chickenlittle, I am so sorry. That's tragic. I hope the next batch has better luck than this one. Wish I could say something to make you feel better...

Phage, Congrats on all those new babies! Share pics?

And like others, I feel kinda bad, but we are officially on day 21 and both my eggs have pips!!! One pipped around 7 this morning. One in the last 30 minutes. I am so excited. I'm gonna be a grandma cause these eggs came from my girls!!

Other eggs are still doing great. Haven't candled in a few, but nobody's weeping or stinking. Will candle in a couple more days. We are on day 12 with them. I am anxious to check on the "big boy" egg, but want to leave it alone for another day or two.

By the way, I have one big egg and one little egg. I had a RIR roo and a red cochin bantam roo in with buff orps, RIR, PR, and white cochin bantam hens. No telling what's coming out of these eggs. But I bet they'll be red, whatever they are. Hoping for some feathered feet!

Congrats on the hatch Phage

Well I got my wish on at least one more of ILove's Wyandottes.. Another one just hatched and seems good and hearty. I haven't been able to examine it yet, but the eggshell looks like it's a clean hatch. Dotte is still hanging on and there are 3 eggs left in the bator.

On a happier note, mom and I bought our tickets for our flight to England/Scotland today... and I booked a private sunrise at Stonehenge.

Mary, sorry about your loss. I, too, would be devastated. I wish you good luck with the next ones

Lovins, my very first hatch I got 1 out of 12, and the one had a sack sticking out water filled. But was doing great and the sack was getting smaller. However, I didn't know any better and I didn't grind down the feed, so he was playing with the food and not eating it and died. The 5 days I had him, he was in a clear plastic rubbermaid bin on my dining room table with a teddy bear. We talked to him alot.

Got some sugar water and a small syringe? Eyedropper? You can even use a small dish and dip it's beak.

One of my sizzles had to be helped out of its shell and didn't walk properly for like 4 days. Sort walked on its hocks if it moved at all because it was too weak to walk on its feet. I kept giving it very small amounts of very dilute sugar water - like a pinch of sugar to 2 tablespoons - and it finally picked up and now is as big and vigorous as its hatchmates.

See if she'll eat some chick starter wet mash.
