Nava, I can understand you forgetting some eggs you got prior to Katy's eggs, but why does that one egg have 3-20 on it?

Twice I've had perfectly good hatches on day 19! I thought I was nuts but I do write these things down. I guess the mystery continues.........

Just a quick check in. Very glad that everybodys hatches seem to be doing well.

Very sorry about the cull. I hate having to do that, generally my hubby does the hard part. Makes me very sad when a chick just cannot make it.

Glad you are ok Phage, and have made it safely through the quakes.

My hatch update for this week:

8 Duck eggs and 10 easter eggers are now in lockdown due on the 10th
8 BLRW due on Apr. 14- (Hoppy)
6 BLRW (Ilovefrizzles) and 101 Rock eggs (threw out 19 with no development) due Apr17
12 Coronation/ Split ( keesmom) due Apr 24

Shhhhh.don't tell my hubby but I am driving 3 hours on the 21st to pick up 2 dozen pure lavendar orp eggs, eeee. Soooo excited. Now I am eying Bamas black orps. Very pretty birds. I keep looking at Katie's auctions as well, but i already have 6 BLRW babies and Hoppy and Frizzles eggs both are developing well. Hmmm.

Just candled my latest bunch of eggs.
These did not travel as well as the previous 2 sets. A lot have totally mobile air sacs

.
They are only at day 5 or 6 but the shells are light and you can see what is going on. I will leave all eggs that are not leaking till day 10 anyway.

optimistically:
BLRW 8/28 probable development
GLW 7/16 probable development

Just got 10 silkie/polish crosses from ebay today. Setting tomorrow. Hopefully they will be better.
