So, my 2 original broody girls finally decided they were done being broody, which is good, as it was going on too long. They are raising the 1 baby that hatched together. However, did it have to be 1 day after I put gumpsgirl's orp eggs under them. There were too many for my last broody to do by herself. She a GLW, so fairly big, but she's having trouble trying to cover all of them. Guess I'll end up sticking a couple in my bator

which makes me nervous considering my hatch rates lately. Have to go put the chickies to bed, I'll be back shortly.

Man I need some serious catching up I think...Hey isnt luvins back today??? Luvins Ive been cleaning pasty butt for 4 days straight!!! They are so cute though and no losses thank goodness!!! The next batch from Sterling Sue gets sent on Tuesday and we should be all done Then we can meet up for margos and mex and split up the babies? IDK

before chickenstock? your hunny will take care of them right..???

My inlaws from Florida have arrived for the SUmmer May-Dec actually and they are my neighbors-we own 6 acres that boarders on their 6 acres...Wouldnt trade it for the world they are such awesome people!

Moved my 3 week olders to the barn tonight it was 80 today-out of the house DH said so I spent all day cleaning and setting up another small kennel cage for them. The BLRW's are in my bathroom-Im not chancing those guys !!!

I have 2 broodies one has splash amaracaunas ( 5) under her with the 1 call duck egg I have left:-( and a split silkie egg for kicks...the other broody I threw 2 mixed turkey eggs under-they are a friends and Im testing fertility for her-

Besides my turkey eggs (2) going into lockdown tomorrow, I have 32/36 Sizzles going into lockdown Friday (from Pampered Poultry). A possible 33, but one is iffy. The rest have visible movement. One egg is marked Lavender and one is marked Blue Frizzle. They are both good and I can not wait to see what comes out.

And, drumroll please,

there is a possibility that we may be moving to a house closer to hubby's work. It has 49 acres!! Can you imagine how many chickens I could have?? And they could stay at my house and not my father in laws???? Nothing is definite yet, but I am hoping. It's a rental and we'd eventually like to purchase it but can not right now. A very nice, large house but it needs work. This is exactly what we were looking for (well, not that many acres) but because of the acreage it is priced higher than we can go. We are checking to see what can be worked out. About 10 of the acres are open, flat pasture land, already producing hay. The other 39 or so are wooded and full of hardwoods. They are willing to rent because in this economy no one in the area has been able to buy it. Thinking it was once a grand house that has set empty for a while. Has a pool, too, but from the looks of it, I suspect it's not operational at the moment. I am so hoping this works out.
