Anywhere on the Gulf Coast is going to have plenty of snakes. I live in the 'burbs and have caught a 2ft hognose in my yard, and have seen lots of other snakes.
You see all kinds of snakes and other animals you don't usually see, sometimes up close and personal, laying track at 6am.
