You are not going to believe this but someone stole 2 of my pullets!!!
Chicken rustling!!! I can't believe it
2 of my 8 best birds have GONE. A BLRW from Hoppy, and a Mille fleur cochin fron onthespot!!!
Now these were my best of the best pullets and so were in a totally raccoon-proof narrow gauge california breeding style cage complete with climbing D clips on the door and a child's paddling pool on top of the cage that a raccoon would have to drag off to get to the door. In addition there is an inner box that the birds sleep in that is away from the sides of the cage.
These birds were taken out by a HUMAN.
I have had tons of people come by most are real nice but there have been a few who found it hard to accept that they were buying straight run chicks. I tell them that half will likely be roosters, and if they want guaranteed pullets there are lots of people on craigs list reselling sexed hatchery chicks for less than my straight run chicks. I strongly discourage these people from buying from me as they are never happy. I have had people call and complain that they got roosters and expect to swap them for hens at 3 months!!!!
I suspect I know who did this.
I am annoyed but more shocked that someone would be so small-minded as to steal chickens.
