Those are gorgeous dak!!! What are they?

And Brindle sorry so hear about the arthritis. Indomethacin is an old but really good one. It works well and beats lots of the alternatives re NASTY side effects. My main reservation is it can cause gastritis and ulcers which can bleed......

I can see we are all going to have to be REAL nice to Nat and Dak

I'll be generous, IF anything hatches! The good news is reports of the demise of number 7 were greatly exaggerated. It's moving again despite a wonky airsac.

The birds are mediocre cochins. The laced varieties need alot of work. Hopefully my "SQ" ones will be in the mail soon. I have a project in mind.

Gotta be carefull now a days when you mention a project. Some people seem to take offense that I don't want to raise "heritage" breeds.

AND Phage, both the twins are still kicking on day 9.

You are having WAY too much fun lately.

Ok, I never did this before and I need help. I put my first ad on craigslist today for a 2 and 1/2 mos old pet quality GLC pair for $15. Someone called wanting a somewhat older cockerel. I told him $10. He's coming into town later this afternoon to look. I'm meeting him at the local grocery store. He sounded young, Navaho, and gay (no prob). Are my prices fair, and should I worry he wants a rooster? I didn't advertise the roos because I didn't figure anyone would wand just boys. Any thoughts?

If you were closer, I would love a roo to go with my only GLC hen. If it weren't so far, I would love to buy some eggs in the spring.
My thoughts are if he is willing to pay $10.00 for a roo he is probably going to breed it.

Your birds are very pretty.

Dak get a hold of the person you got the eggs/chickens from and ask what they get for their culls. Most people with very rare breeds like that dont "let them go" to anyone-15 is CHEAP for them..way to cheap-I got 45$ for a 6 month old white orp pair-and that was too cheap but it was for a BYCer for chickenstock. Go for craigslist and honestly try and sell them on BYC? you would probably get what they are worth even at pet quality-it's a start for someone else to begin adding to the breed for the better:) dont let him talk you down from 10$ either. Im not out to overcharge or hose anyone ever-but you deserve the price of what the rarity of the breed brings-it keeps people who just breed whatever away from them and for serious people:)

I've been on it for a while, and so far my innards are acting like boiler plate! Let's hope that keeps up!

Anybody who wants a cochin rooster for nefarious purposes will be sadly disappointed. Hopefully a gay guy has more class than that. He probably just thinks the are SO PRETTY!

Well...He bought a cockerel. Very nice, very gay, and brought his mother. He said he has 3 pens, 60 hens and only one other roo he will be separated from. He feeds Purina, knew the flock raiser was the green bag, and the bird will ride home in his lap with air conditioning.

Isn't this the best we can hope for our surplus roos?

And he wanted the calmest one. He was a pretty boy who now has a very pretty bird.
