Me too, bucket carrying from the house BUT I have an idea for you. This is what the past owners of the farm did. Get a 55 gallon food based barrel (white or blue) cut off the top. Place a tank deicer in it. Can get one at TSC or online. http://www.tractorsupply.com/livest...cast-aluminum-utility-deicer-250-watt-2170738 put one of those water heater blankets around the barrel. and put a piece of styrofoam insulation on the top as a lid. Then you can use it as necessary.

I can get a bucket like that In fact I have one but what fill it up to the top and attach or create some kind of spicket on it at the bottom or attach a hose to the spicket??? hmmmm I gots some thinking to do!!

Or you can invest in a rain barrel with a spigot at the bottom yes. Elevate it with a 2x4 platform and then put the deicer in it.

Oh I put 3 split lav silkie eggs and 5 BLRW eggs under broody she was not happy and is sleeping right next to them! I shoved each one under her and she got up and walked away:-( well see if she is not sitting on them by lockdown tonight Im pulling them cause Im not going to have 8 frozen eggs that will crack and break:-( Its 12 degrees out

I have a nice flock of black copper marans, 7 pullets and 2 roos who are just starting to lay. All of my marans have feathered feet and I culled for coloring. They all came from very dark eggs. I will try and post pics in the next couple days.

As soon as they become consistent and I know they are fertile, I would love someone to test them for me. If interested pm me. I have never shipped eggs so i would love to "practice" before spring.
