That's rough, Bob. After going through similar experiences with my dad, I know what you're going through. It's terrible to see them like that, but I'm so glad we were able to keep him home with us.

she has been very independant her entire life....has lived alone for 30 years....fighting me on moving in....but without any exageration i have answered the same questions 7 or 8 times so far today....unfortunately she is also an alcoholic....has to have a drink by 4 pm or can't cope....so once her cocktail hour starts her memory gets even worse...she beat breast cancer a few years ago and is very healthy

My dad was a Marine - retired - and ran his own management company, covering sites all over NJ and PA. He never had anyone do anything for him when he could do it. It was fortunate, looking back, that his mind started to go, because he never would have allowed me to do the things I had to do to take care of him, like bathing, changing, and feeding him - just like a baby. It was harder for us, but a blessing for him. I'm telling you now to find a way to get home help in your home. My mom and I were about to collapse when he qualified for regular aides, even though they only came a couple of hours three times a week. It was huge for us. See if you can find out what she can qualify for - a doctor usually needs to sign the order for aides. Ask her doctor what the requirements might be, although they are different in every state.

Well, at least you are slightly aware of what it takes. My mom and I had to make it up as we went along.

Hey C. did you get the email with the house pics? It looked modular to me but he said it's stick built!

Yup, just emailed you back. It does look modular from the inside pics, but the outside doesn't.

if it's modular the walls in the middle will be double the thickness...look at door jambs in middle of house if any are in pics

No, they look OK and he said it's stick built, but really weird ceilings like drop ceilings!
