If they look sick and have mud butt, my first thought would be coccidiosis. Not all types have blood. Out of 5 chickens of mine that had it at different times, only one had blood. If you put frontline on them, doesn't that stuff kill roundworms? If they're overloaded you will see worms in their stool.

Oh heck yah...

Ok so back to the whole we give each other chicken tips thing. My OE roo Harry had mites... I have since conquered the mites with baths and frontline, he has wicked diarrhea. What do I do for this poor boy?? It's really him and Dotte, one of my favorite wyandotte hens. They both have good appetites, but are disturbingly thin and have wicked runs, I have to bathe their bums (then keep them inside) and by the next day their vents are coated again. Should I have the vet do a fecal?

Has he been exposed to A LOT of DE. I had a chicken in quarantine(due to an injury) once and I dusted it with a lot of Food DE, everywhere in coop, food etc. It had runs like water, literally like water, clear and constant within a couple days. I removed it from that coop, re cleaned it and it improved. It may have nothing to do with the DE but that was the only thing that I changed.

Did they both get frontline? Could that have caused it?

The whole post thing, but then I'm feeling irritable as I listen to my suro beep again for being off temp... $370 dollars worth of made in China.
