Those really are beautiful pictures momma, but I do see why it might get tiresome living in it full time.

We have a freeze out! No class tonight! Hurray!!!!!!!! When I was discussing this with my boss yesterday she wouldn't agree with me. I guess she had to come to the conclusion on her own.

Looks like I'll have 12 little OE babies to take care of. 10 are out and two are almost out after being pipped forever. Four eggs are not pipped at all, so I'll candle those this evening to see if still viable. One (the cracked egg) was alive at lockdown, but appears to have died shortly after. I removed it when I saw it oozing - thought it was an egg bomb, but it was not, just a chick that didn't make it for no apparent reason. Thanks nat! Now let's hope most of them are girls.

I wish I knew! My temps and humidity were perfect all the time and none of the babies came out drowned or shrinkwrapped, with the exception of the one that screwed up his pipping. I just don't know

.. I'll candle the four remaining eggs and see if anything's still alive in there since none are pipped.

Well somehow one of my roos ended up on the front porch during our little blizzard. I don't know how long he was out there but the state of his comb leads me to believe he might have been out all night. I found him yesterday and he spent the rest of the day and last night on our enclosed back porch. He is an Orpington that I picked up from Julie (Bamachicken) in November. Poor guy is now in the coop with the rest of his flock. I have a feeling that he will lose all of his comb but an inch.

Ok now to catch up.
