shavings in crates

I'm hauling to a show 4+ hours away. should I put shavings in the crates with the silkies to absorb the poo or not ?? We've never taken them this far to a show before. we're cooping in tonight and showing tomorrow.

I transport with shavings in the boxes. Invariably someone steps in poo anyway and needs some spot cleaning.
