I just started them young with regular baths. Gave them treats and lots of affection and attention while bathing. The only one that hates a bath is my red dog. We got her in the winter when it was cold outside and she was not a house dog so she didn't start getting regular baths until way too late. She loves to swim though. Makes no sense.OMG!are they offering lessons!?

That’s just sick
Yeah, I’m trying to get him used to it but so far he’s only had two baths hahah one soon after I got him and then this one because he ran through poison ivyI just started them young with regular baths. Yeller dog loves a bath but hates swimming.![]()
Yep, you could do that. Treat him just for gettin in the tub on command and staying there for a minute. I also made baths real short but fairly frequent when Mason was little. But he has short hair so that helps.Yeah, I’m trying to get him used to it but so far he’s only had two baths hahah one soon after I got him and then this one because he ran through poison ivymaybe I should start just bathing him just because? Or at least just putting him in the tub without the water hahah I hadn’t thought of that. And yeah, I knew a dog like that once that loved swimming but hated baths. I think it’s because baths are forced LOL
That makes sense! I think that might be part of my problem. I make the bathes too long I think cause I fully suds them up LOL then it takes forever to rinse the soap out cause I put too much on and more water makes it foam moreYep, you could do that. You don't wanna bathe them too long and often and dry their skin out.
I use mane and tail conditioner on Mason for some of his baths instead of shampoo if he ain't real dirtyThat makes sense! I think that might be part of my problem. Brew has short fur too but it’s starting to get a little bit thicker now that he’s getting older.
I think I have some of that I got for myself and never usedI use mane and tail conditioner on Mason for some of his baths instead of shampoo if he ain't real dirty
