Shaw and the Hound

If anyone wants to hear what Memphis means by peeling the paint off the walls...

I wanna hear him at a proper ‘full cry’... for him ... but you too...

My thought is find ‘ya a local houndsman, and get running... just for the summer maybe, or just a few weeks this fall ... maybe it’s not for you... maybe it is...

i‘m bashful about telling folks how to be... but till you see him tree up hard next to other hounds... he’s always something less.., or something unknown.... or something unrealized...

he’ll make a fine pet no matter... but let him strike hard... know what that is... and I think you’ll be thrilled with him all the more

I leave my dogs with my house duck alone all the time. This isn't their first rodeo, and they know what will happen if even a feather is touched. I sure don't have hounds, though!
This is one of my favorite photos of my dogs, and Yoshimi.View attachment 2175965
So cute!!! And wow the pupper got big!!!

OhZark has a point. I started mine at around 6 months. We have a coonhound group down here that was willing to help me. It was scary the first time I cut him loose. But these guys knew what they were doing & all turned out ok. We ran him with two older experienced bitches. The first time he hit....I didn't recognize his voice. The more we practiced & the older he got, the deeper & richer his voice became. I enjoyed it but running through the woods at night wasn't my thing. The group felt he could be good...if he had another training!

I had one of those coons show up here this morning. Fortunately no turkeys or eggs were harmed except for the one in the live trap. The goldfish in the pond are a little skittish this morning.

You are right..He has more in him that just that. But when he does that inside it feels like the windows rattle.
I have heard him full cry a couple times. But at 2 am when he's got a raccoon up on the fence and I'm half asleep out there in my undies trying to decide what to do I'm not exactly thinking about taking a video. 🤣
