Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

Wow I knew they were hard to hatch but that's some tough numbers. Knowing that, you getting those 2 beautiful babies makes them extra wonderful.

I'm getting more nervous about mine. They are so shaken! They are @ day 11 now. I was reading pyxis' hatching article about laying them on their sides but slightly angled. Should I shut the turner off and angle them? I could turn them but not as often as the bator.

Sorry for the derail.

I would leave them in the the turner (it's a side rolling one, right?)... but that's just my opinion...

I checked mine incubating last night. Day 20. Most of them look great, but 4 have big clear sections in the tip. :barnie

Now my biggest concern is Lexi is off her nest! Today is day 26 since she started sitting full time, overnights and all. The eggs look very close to due. (full, but no drawdown in the couple that I checked) It's been cold, so a couple days extra didn't concern me. But she has been off the nest since I got home for work, at lease over an hour.

The eggs were very warm when I first saw she was off. I looked for a dead duckling or maybe something scared her away. But her mound is fine. How long till I shoo her back?
